U shaped lounge 2006 Peugeot Boxer Diesel with only 31k miles. One of the best features we've found with this van is the u-shaped lounge. Whereas many motorhomes have no windows at the back, this one has windows on three sides, giving a light airy feel, and the ability to enjoy the scenery while you're chatting or eating your meal. The kitchen area has windows either side too, and there are two sunroofs: one above the kitchen and another above the lounge. All the windows and sunroofs open to let in the air, with fly screens to keep the bugs out and they all close tightly to keep the weather out. Gas heating gives a lovely cosy feeling if it's cold. We love parking to sleep under the stars in the Brecons, then waking to a glorious panorama of hills, valleys, sky and of course sheep!

The van is surprisingly easy to drive and park, but there is loads of space and light inside. It fits in a normal car parking bay for width, but it goes over into the next space length-wise. Be careful when you look at six berth vans - it's no good having six beds if you only have seatbelts for two people. This van (as you may have guessed) has six proper lap-and-diagonal seatbelts: one each for driver and front seat passenger, plus four in the kitchen area just behind the cab.

There are three double beds: one above the cab which can be left made up all the time, or you can use it for extra storage. There's another bed in the kitchen area and one in the lounge area at the back. There is a shower and toilet compartment with a cassette loo which unloads outside, and a big wardrobe opposite so your clothes can hang instead of getting crumpled. You can run the van from the leisure battery if you're away from civilisation, so you don't run the main (engine) battery down, or you can hook up to the mains with the long lead included. Most of the lighting is LED to keep the battery load down, and the leisure battery has more capacity than normal: 120Ah, which should keep you going for ages from a full charge. There's a TV aerial which can be adjusted from inside the van, but I've never used it, preferring to use on-demand services or DVD/CD for entertainment.
The van has loads of storage space inside, with eye level cupboards around the whole of the inside, plus more cupboards under the seats and shelves poked in here and there.

There are tanks for fresh and waste water under the van, with a pump to carry fresh water to the sink and the shower. There's a gas or electric driven water heater too, but I haven't used it on gas for ages. The engine is a powerful unit, giving you the ability to cruise easily above the legal limit in this country, and yet return a reasonable 28mpg at legal speeds. It's more frugal if you can take a more relaxed approach. It's very quick off the mark, so you'll be able to slot into gaps on roundabouts without worrying about it. The brakes are very good too. You'll find the turning circle surprisingly small, meaning you can manoeuvre reasonably well, but you'll need to get used to the overhang at the back.

If you run out of space inside, the van has a strong tow bar. We've used it a couple of times to tow our motorbikes with us: we can park somewhere central, then use the van as the base for a few days' adventures on the twisty roads nearby.

The kitchen area is very useable. Unlike smaller, and some bigger vans, it has a proper cooker with grill, oven and four gas burners. There's a sink with draining board and a reasonably sized fridge/freezer, which runs on battery, gas or mains. Again, lots of storage for your plates, mugs, cooking utensils and so.
