One of a series of lithographs by Vincent Brooks Day & Son of cartoon drawings by Spy (Leslie Ward), published in Vanity Fair magazine and dated 13.7.1893. The subject is Mr (later Sir) Charles Frederick Hamond M.P., who was the member of parliament for Newcastle-upon-Tyne, and who was a barrister and shipowner and is remembered for Leazes Park and Gallowgate Baths.
