Native carved African Elephant under a Palm Tree in African hardwood, probably mahogany or rosewood. 34 cm. high x 28 cm. long x 20 cm. deep. In excellent condition for its age, but very slight repaired damage to left ear and tail, plus right ear has very small piece missing. Palm tree comes apart for shipping and the elephant and palm trunk separates from the base. Bought in Ghana or Nigeria during World War II, (1942)
