A rare chance to come and listen to the traditional and beautiful service of Evensong held in the tranquil surroundings of the 11th oldest church in the country. Sung by Worth Choir and Directed by Alex Hiam. Music will include responses by Smith, Canticles in D by Dyson and the anthem "Cantate Domino" by Monteverdi. If you are not accustomed to this traditional service, it is one that has been sung regularly in Church since the Sixteenth Century, and was based on the Services held daily in the medieval church, so uses ancient language. Other that the hymns, the music is sung by the Choir so do come and listen. We only do 2 evensongs per year and this is the second one, so last chance to hear it in this location in 2016. http://worthparish.org/about-worth-choir/ "One of England's richest heritages – a living musical tradition that costs nothing to experience live.” - The Guardian on
