CMC Sickle Cell Fundraiser

18 GBP

CMC Events Planner is proud to announce their first event for 2017: SICKLE CELL FUNDRAISER This fundraiser is all about raising awareness of the sickle cell disease which is common in people with an African or Caribbean family background.  Now I don’t suffer from sickle cell, but I have family and friends who have either the sickle cell trait or sickle cell. And I know a few family members have lost friends to the disease. When it comes to donating to charities, I have never seen anything to donate to sickle cell. There are a few charities out there, but for some reason they don’t get the publicity they need and I want to be able to help change that. All proceeds will go to SickleKan, a charity which will use their donations to raise awareness of sickle cell in many different ways through marketing materials, delivering interactive school sessions, setting up a website and a app and hopefully setting up a centre for sickle cell sufferers to receive help and support.  Events on the Day Stalls from local business:  Urbanized Neckwear Enigma - Personal Styling Gena's Mobile Beauty Reeca's Cakery Gorjuss Things Just For You Young, Gifted and Black The Cocos Butter Project   Guest Speakers - Kenny Salami (SickleKan Director) and Naomi Roberts (Sickle Cell Carrier) Singing from CC  Performance from Fidget Feet Dance Crew  Face Painting Raffle Food on sale  Tickets   ** THIS IS A TICKET ONLY EVENT!! **   Tickets go on sale at 9am on Tuesday 10th January 2017 There are two entries to the fundraiser: 12pm-3pm and 3pm-6pm   Limited Early Bird Tickets are available for both at:   Adults (16+) £5 + BF   Concessions (3-15 & OAP) £3 + BF   Standard tickets at:   Adults (16+) £7 + BF   Concessions (3-15 & OAP) £5 + BF   Thank you for your support and I hope to see you all at a great event!   ** For more information or to make a donation to SickleKan, please go to www.gofundme.com**
