Overlooking Drom beach and backed by Mount Brandon, this quiet, cosy home is set in it's own garden. Access is from a narrow one track 'boreen' leading to a wonderful rural location right on the beachfront, which has its own gated access from the garden to a lovely safe sandy beach. 45 mins drive from Killarney/Kerry Airport; 2 hours from Cork or Shannon; 15-20 mins from Dingle; 35 mins from Tralee. Whatever the weather, this is a very comfortable base for up to 4 persons to relax, explore, or take part in the many popular watersports such as wind/kite or board surfing; diving; coarse and sea fishing; walking/hiking and climbing. Live music is a great part of the local scene and most pubs host this at least once a week, more in summer. A beautiful restful place but close to all amenities. Do not expect a brand new, pristine mobile home. It is used by families with children and dogs, and myself with my dog and wheelchair. However it is clean, comfortable and homely. Likewise the garden is only grassed, no flower beds or tubs. Jackie will see to anything that needs doing during your stay, as she only lives just down the lane. The home is fully equipped, has 2 bedrooms, (one double with toilet and wash handbasin ensuite, plus one twin with 2 beds). Seperate shower room/toilet & w/handbasin. The kitchen has full sized gas cooker and hob, fridge and small freezer, kettle, toaster, and coffee percolator, plus all cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. Large sitting/dining room with patio doors leading onto surrounding decking. Separate large car port with washing line. Small outbuilding with washing machine and small chest freezer. Garden is laid to grass and there is a secluded protected patio area to the rear. Double glazing. Gas central heating. Cloghane village is 5 mins drive. Brandon 10 mins drive. Castlegregory 10 mins drive, Tralee 35 mins, Kerry Airport 45 mins. Dingle 20 mins. Nearest shop is in Cloghane (small). Larger comprehensive (Spa) supermarket in Castlegregory. Main shopping area in Tralee - Tesco, Dunnes Stores (MandS), Penny's (Primark) etc. and lots of small shops, plus a street market in the square usually on a Friday. Many artisan shops in villages plus especially Dingle Town. Pottery and local crafts are widely available, and local markets and farmers markets open in the summer months selling local bread, cakes, chocolate, smoked fish, pates, sausages etc. Brilliant area for wind, kite and board surfing, diving, sea and lake fishing, walking, hiking, climbing, sightseeing, music or just relaxing in the laid back atmosphere of rural Kerry! The Blasket Island Heritage Centre is on the Slea Head Drive near Dunquin and well worth a visit. Take in Inch Beach on the way back, through Annascaul, calling in at The South Pole inn. Look at the view across Tralee Bay when nearing Camp. More locally, visit The Maharees (7 hogs islands), and stop for a drink and lovely meal at Spillanes on the way to/from the harbour right at the end. The Jamie Knox School is available around there to teach wind/kite surfing and diving, or to hire..
