An evening of stand-up comedy sat at candlelit tables featuring 5 comedians in the function room at Pontyclun Rugby Club. Hosting this night is James Redmond. He made his name as a model and actor and is best known for seminal roles in ‘Hollyoaks’ (C4) and ‘Casualty’ (BBC1) and presenting ‘SM:TV’ & ‘CD:UK’ (ITV), alongside Cat Deeley. He has appeared on ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ (BBC2), ‘Celebrity Come Dine With Me’ (C4) with fellow comedians Paul Foot & Joey Page, and is a regular guest and contributor on ‘Soccer AM’ (Sky 1) & Radio 5 Live. Opening the show is James Alderson. James has an effervescent and exuberant style. He draws on his life experiences as a man to feed his routines. He's been described by many as an 'everyman comedian'. Women laugh at his hilarious observations and self-depricating style, and men laugh with him, feeling his pain and his frustrations....you rarely know where James will go with his comedic tales and punchlines, but he always takes the crowd with him, laughing all the way.... Performing in the middle section is Swansea based, 24 year old Glaswegian Steven Skilling. Having started performing stand-up in late 2012 he is now gigging regularly in some of the most respected clubs across the UK. Steven has been in the finals of many stand-up competitions including the BBC New Comedy Awards and the Scottish Comedian of the Year Award in 2015. Steven's observational style of comedy draws upon his life experiences, growing up in Scotland and the differences between living in Glasgow to Swansea! Headlining the show is Suzi Ruffell who began her stand-up career at just twenty-three years old. After only eighteen months of performing all over the UK this bright young comic from Portsmouth was nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the YearSince then Suzi has gone on to star in Live at the Comedy Store, LOLz Lounge, as well as numerous appearances on Radio 4 including Fresh From The Fringe. More recently Suzi has been supporting some of the UK’s top comedians on their sold out tours including Channel 4’s Chatty Man, Alan Carr, star of The Last Leg, Josh Widdicombe and Scotland’s finest, Kevin Bridges. Outside the realms of stand-up Suzi is a talented actor and writer including writing additional material for TV shows such as The Last Leg, Mock The Week and 8 Out Of 10.
