An evening of stand-up comedy sat at candlelit tables in The Function Room of Pontyclun Rugby Club. The evening is headlined by Adam Kay, whose material is not for the easily offended! Adam Kay sings smutty songs at a piano. He has sold out seven Edinburgh Festivals and three nationwide tours, he has had over 10 million hits on YouTube (including the iconic London Underground song), four number 1 albums in the iTunes comedy charts, he’s won the 2014 London Cabaret Award, written numerous TV shows (including CRIMS on BBC Three), performs on the Radio 4 Now Show, and even played Prince Harry’s 30th birthday party. Adam’s material is not for the easily offended. Hosting the evening is Paul James. Once described as what would happen if Tim Vine hadn’t found God, Paul delivers a set that has the audience reeling from the first joke to the last. He has a warm and laid back style, which together with an ever-present glint in his eye puts an audience at ease, even if they feel just a little naughty afterwards. He has a down to earth accessibility that wins crowds over everywhere and he is not afraid to interrupt his stream of gags and one liners to dip into the crowd to extract every last drop of fun. In the middle section we have Jake Lambert. Jake Lambert fell into a career as a stand up after gaining a following on Twitter under the pseudonym @LittleLostLad and deciding to put down his iPhone and pick up a microphone. It has proven to be a great choice with him making it to the semi-finals of the BBC New Comedy Award within six months of his first gig. Jake can now be seen performing his combination of one-liners, short stories and strange thoughts in comedy clubs, universities and theatres across the UK as well as still making his ever-increasing Twitter following.
