Home-Start Glasgow South volunteers support local families in a number of ways, using their unique skills and experiences to help families cope. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and generally help out in one of the following roles: Home Visiting Volunteers, English Tutoring Volunteers and Fundraising Volunteers. The only qualification you need to be a home-visiting volunteer is parenting experience. Anything else will be provided by our volunteer training course which runs for 2 1/2 hours once a week for eight weeks. Home-Start Glasgow South tutors must have an interest in teaching English and experience is helpful, but no formal qualifications are required. Fundraising volunteers are those keen to support the work of Home-Start Glasgow South through helping raise vital funds for the service. Do you have a flair for fundraising? Do you have an idea that could raise money? Then maybe you could support us in this way. Home-Start Glasgow South would not be able to function without the valuable input of its volunteers. We provide volunteers with the training and support they require so that they can make a positive and lasting difference to the lives of the families we work with. Volunteering with Home-Start Glasgow South is a great experience and a wonderful opportunity to not only support others, but to grow professionally and develop your own skills. If you can spare a few hours each week to help a family, call us or email us to find out how amazing you can be.
