Flatbed Colour Slide and Photo Scanner.Heidelberg Linotype Hell Saphir Ultra 2

35 GBP

I have used this scanner for a vast quantity of 35mm Colour Slides,Black and White Negatives and also forcoloured prints on Calendars which I wanted to preserve.Although it has a SCSI output this is easily dealt with via an Interface Card in a small form factor desktop running on Windows XP. There are two software discs that come with the Scanner; Newcolor 4000 and 5000.The former is used in conjunction with Photoshop  or other TWAIN software and the latter is a stand alone system; although I have always used Newcolor 4000.
There is no specific driver for XP and when the system is switched on the computer reports " Found New Hardware" ,this can be ignored and deleted 8 times and will then stop .At this point the Newcolor software can be used,as the scanner output can be imported to Photoshop
Typically colour slides in frames or otherwise can be stacked on the glass surface,as many or few as required.and a preliminary scan will indicate their positions. The film section can then be marked out using a cursor  which draws a dotted red rectangle around the  area selected.Once this has been completed the complete group of slides can be scanned automatically one after the other.
The photos show the mechanical form of the scanner, the screen display for Newcolor 4000,the computer and scanner setup and a scanned £5 note.
I would be prepared to scan a sample slide or picture from anyone who is seriously interested to provide a positive indication of scan quality!
Associated small form factor computer and screen available for nominal charge too
