We have owned these two weeks in May in a chalet near Aviemore since 1987, and would like to pass the FREEHOLD on to a younger family at NO CHARGE, as we no longer use it. This time of year often coincides with warm sunny weather in Scotland. The chalet stands on a gentle hillside, facing south in a very sheltered idyllic woodland setting. The windows are not overlooked, as it is the first chalet on the hillside going up, so there is nothing in front of it. There is a dedicated car park space 25m from the chalet. The chalet sleeps four in two bedrooms, one double (second photo) and two singles and two more on a sofa bed in the lounge. There is a small full kitchen and a conservatory with dining table and chairs for six. A comfortable lounge with sofa bed is equipped with a flat screen TV and DVD player and soon to be WiFi: at present it is in the clubhouse. Heating throughout is by electric radiators. On site outdoor facilities include a large fishing Lochan (first photo), together with a tennis court, and childrens' adventure park with climbing wall. Indoor club facilities include a heated indoor pool, clubhouse and restaurant, gym, sauna, and games room with table tennis. There is also a small launderette with two washing and two tumble-drying machines. High chairs can be hired. There is an annual variable maintenance charge of around £500 per week. Without the need to get into a car, there are fabulous country walks from outside the door and in nearby Carrbridge, and there is a golf course a few minutes walk away. Lots more photos available, please ask. Aviemore is just seven miles away, and it is 6 miles from Loch Garten, which is famous for its Ospreys, at the very time of year when you can watch them nesting from the dedicated RSPB Centre on the loch side. The Cairngorms are 10 miles away, also the river Spey and its distilleries. It is 30 miles from Inverness, and Loch Ness is within easy day trip distance. Culloden is around thirty miles, Aberdeen a bit further. Lianne WROTE THE REVIEW BELOW after she and her family stayed in May 20014:- My husband and I, along with our 7 year old and our dog Jack had a lovely week at this chalet. Despite the rain, the swimming pool and steam room in the main building sure made up for it. My good intentions of using the gym didn't happen, but I'm using my being 7 1/2 months pregnant as my main reason, I was in the heated pool plenty however. Not too far from Aviemore, a short drive, and an outdoor adventure park literally 2 minutes away, meant there were things to do when it was dry, and my daughter Rhiannon mastered the climbing wall at the adventure park. We also saw a red squirrel go past the conservatory during lunch which we were thrilled at Overall a great wee holiday. Would recommend and would go.
