HOW LONG IS THE COURSE AND WHEN WILL IT START This is a one-year course WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need to have three GCSEs at Grade D or above including English and maths, or an equivalent Level 1 qualification. You will also need to have a keen interest in sports coaching and leadership and be able to provide a reference detailing your ability to be a good role model and sports leader. WHAT WILL I STUDY Though your course will focus on one of the key sport areas including football, basketball, netball, volleyball and multi-skills, the coaching skills you develop are transferable across a range of other sports. Units you will study include: Planning and preparing a series of coaching sessions Maintaining an environment in which participants can improve their performance Coaching participants to improve their performance Evaluating coaching sessions and developing your personal coaching practice Dealing with accidents and emergencies Supporting the protection of children HOW WILL I BE TAUGHT AND ASSESSED You'll be taught by our highly skilled team of Sports lecturers, through a mixture of practical sessions and theory work.
