Harley-Davidson introduced the Softail frame into the model range in the late 1980’s shortly after the 1340cc Evo engine took over from the Shovel Head as the ‘big twin’ power plant. By the time the Fat Boy version became available in the 1990 it was without doubt the most popular bike in the range and so a retro version, the Heritage Softail was launched soon after. Subsequent limited editions of special paint colours were then available during different years. 1996 saw this fine version introduced in metallic green and silver, the ‘Nostalgia’ editions had their own tank badge, saddlebags and seat that also distinguished them from the standard Heritage model. A three owner from new example this bike was supplied new by The Foundry Harley-Davidson, Canterbury Kent. It subsequently went through their hands again in 2004 and 2006 when the mileage was 9022. Other old MoTs confirm that the current milage of 12,335 is correct. The bike is also supplied with a number of optional extra’s including slip fit mufflers and has both sets of keys. Recently serviced by us and with an MoT until May 2017 it remains in generally very good condition and comes with the factory.
