THIS HISTORIC LETTER OPENER WAS MADE DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR IN THE TRENCHES IN FRANCE. IT HAS "FRANCE " ON ONE SIDE AND POPPIES ON THE OTHER. THE HANDLE IS A SMALL "" TUBE"" OF .303 INCHES IN DIAMETER.It is now inert of course. A tribute in this centenary year to those who fought in that terrible!!!!!!
