FREE POSTAGE TO ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD I am open to offers
I was selling for £8,500 ono which is easily a third of the total value, but now until the end of January I am offering them for £6,600 which is easily a 4th of there total value.
The other shells that I am selling in my shop are part this total collection and there are many others that are not pictured. but I can send other pictures on request.
This collection was started in the 40's by my father, and I have continued collecting and adding to it over the years, and there's plenty of scope for adding more. As there is in excess of 100,000 species of Mollusc's in the world
This is a Large Shell Collection of over 3500 shells, and nearly 3000 different types covering all classes of mollusc, they range from very large shells like ( Cassis cornuta - Horned Helmet and Charonia tritonis - Trumpet Triton ) to some micro shells (Raphitoma philberti and Marshallora adversa), a good starter collection
There is also coral, star fish, sea horses, anemones and a Venus Flower Basket (Euplectella aspergillum)
To see the other photos of the collection which are mainly kept in display cabinets, I have put pictures of the other shells on Google+ on Jacqui Goodier page in the folder called Shell Collection and in Google+ in Collections on the left hand-side drop down tab, they can also be seen at https://www.flickr.com/gp/click to contact/zb6aae just copy and paste into your search bar on your computer.
There are also other shells which are not in any photos which I still have in bags and boxes, I can take photos of these if you so wish and email them.
I was asking a realistic £10.000 ono, that worked out to under £3.00 each, and that's under half of what they are worth or to put it another way, how much it would cost to buy individualy.
To get an idea of the cost of buying shells, have a look at sites that sell shells or auction shells, There's loads web sites around the world buying and selling shells, or just take a look at eBay.
You will see that almost 2 thirds of my collection sell for £3 and above, a few hundred shells at £10 and above and a few that sell in the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60.s, 70's, 80's and maybe the odd one that costs more, I've not looked up the value of everyone of the shells. but if I were to sell the shells individually at the average cost, the value of the collection is in region of £25.000
The Shells in the picture frames are stuck onto the paper using a silicon glue which peals off the shells really easily and does not damage the them in any way
I am doing FREE POSTAGE to anywhere in the World. All the shells will be well packed mainly individually in bubble wrap, boxed and sent by courier
Payment by Paypal only,
You are also welcome to collect in.
