Two day Lock Opening course
2 DAY TRAINING COURSE
The course is designed to enhance people’s skills in non destructive entry of locks.
The two day course is hands-on training on a one to one basis and consists of:
Opening techniques using as many lock picks, lock tools and bypass techniques as possible.
An introduction to pin tumbler and wafer locks and how they work.
Picking of wafer locks which are commonly used on filing cabinets, desks drawers, small cash boxes and key safes, etc.
Picking of garage door locks.
Picking a variety of padlocks (pin tumbler and levers).
Picking euro profile cylinders (commonly used on UPVC doors and composite doors).
Picking rim cylinder locks (Yale type).
Concluding Day 1 we will be working on an actual door using various techniques including letterbox tool, plastic mica, rake keys, bump keys and other bypass tools. Also simple entry to XYZ type locks (digital locks).
Mortice lock stripping and assembly and an introduction to the names of the working components. Opening of 2 lever mortice locks with ‘L’ tools, over lifters and a demonstration of simple tools which you can use to bypass these locks.
Opening 3 lever mortice locks to include the use of try out keys and 2-in-1 picks.
Opening 5 lever mortice locks with 2-in-1 picks.
Opening 5 lever British Standard mortice locks with curtain picks, plasticene impressioning and an explanation of pin and cam type picks.
There will be refreshments throughout the day and lunch will be included.
