This N gauge layout was lovingly crafted by a friend who has since died and his widow has asked me to sell it for her. The layout is 6 ft. by 2ft. with a small branch extension at a right angle to the main layout, which is 3ft by 9ins and will have to be cut gently, to remove it when collecting. The layout is built on sturdy plywood with 1’’ x 2’’bracing, as far as I can tell. There are only three set track points, two of which are operated by rods from the front of the layout. There is no stock with the layout. . Parts of the scenery are removable to gain access to the track underneath. Numerous items are scratch built including some representations of cars, and there are numerous buildings, where kits have been used. There are three tracks, though two seem to have been terminated by a building which can easily be removed to allow a full circuit, but having tested the tracks, they all work , though the bends by the station are very tight and as built are not suitable for long wheel base wagons/coaches and would need relaying. The back scene is not removable and therefore is not going with layout, as in some places it is painted onto the wall or glued on. Some items are over scale e.g. the letter boxes and the scratch built lamps in the station. There are two controllers included which can be seen in the picture, one Bachmann and the other Gaugemaster. It is a compact, working layout which will provide fun for someone perhaps starting out in N gauge and needing to develop skills or it can be used by someone who just wants to run a few trains. It could be extended and developed with space and ingenuity… I hope the photo’s do it justice. It can be viewed by arrangement and is re-advertise due to a time.
