Lessons are fun and relaxed. Home visits are usual. Adults and children are welcome. Any age. Exams if required but not essential. Music reading is taught and necessary for piano but for Guitar I also teach Tablature (TAB). All levels and all styles. During the School Holidays I also offer Guitar Holidays in Normandy France. This is for people who have played a little up to about Grade 4. This involves a weeks stay at a local B&B with meals included. After Breakfast you will join me at the House of Swallows. In small groups of 6ish we will work through some common problems, cover some basic theory, learn some helpful techniques and useful ways to practice. At the start of the week we will choose a few pieces (classical and pop) to perform and work on these during the week. Private sessions will be available by arrangement. At lunchtime we will have a break to enjoy a buffet, refreshments and a chat. If you prefer to do your own thing that is fine. We resume after lunch. Once we are making progress with the pieces, we shall decide who plays what and work towards perfecting the pieces. Ideally students should already read a little music or Tablature. The course is about having fun, making new friends and building confidence in your playing. The aim is for us all to perform in a local venue at the end of the week. There will usually be an outing included and maybe dinner at a restaurant one evening. Some time off to visit a beach or go horse riding will be possible. There are activities available but mostly Normandy is about tranquillity and appreciation of the wonderful wildlife. Suggested inclusive price is about £440 for the week but this does not include travel. ;
