I have been teaching for 16 years and am am fully qualified as a teacher. 13 years of my teaching career was spent at the well known 'Thomas a Becket Middle School.' (Some people who offer home tuition are not actually qualified teachers) I am fully up to date with the new curriculum and the new expectations that have pushed some children into the 'below expectations' bracket. I understand the EHCP document (if your child has one) and can incorporate this into their learning. Many children, even 'more able' pupils are struggling to meet the new expectations and need a further boost to support their learning in school. I have a particular strength with working with children with additional needs and disabilities. I am a parent of a child with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and epilepsy, so I understand the challenges these children can face with learning from both a parental and a teacher's view.
