QuizBiz was created in 1989, as a hobby, after a 15 year spell as a trumpet player in a working Big Band, travelling abroad to perform, and having some truly terrific memories not to mention stage experiences too. However, I spotted a gap in the market to take quiz nights to a higher level, using some of the knowledge I'd gained already from my past coupled with a little help from one or two influential people around me at that time, and of course my own desire and foresight to see the project through. Since then, I've stuck to the task religiously and still enthuse about the role as much today as I did back then, using my own interpretation, carefully themed rounds tailored to each event, a professional sound system capable of delivering to audiences of up to 350, and using a warm and natural style of presentation. Living in the Midlands, I've just about worked in every town in the area, and beyond. I present an annual charity event in Scarborough, North Yorkshire which is now in its 20th year, and have been invited to Brighton several times to host corporate events, together with many other parts of the UK. I always work with an assistant, who looks after the collecting & marking, which then provides me with the free role to compere/present, making the quiz seamless. No two gatherings are ever the same, and since I cover a very diverse range of quizzes from Corporate events, Charity/Fund Raising groups, Schools, Church organisations, work do's, Birthday/Wedding Anniversary celebrations, Sporting/Social clubs, local pubs, and many more, I always talk thoroughly through the details with the organiser to cover all the bases imaginable as I believe the two crucial elements to providing the best possible quiz night are presentation and application, which I pride myself on to achieve each time. I retired from my '9 to 5' in 2013 to focus further on the thing that's kept me buzzing all these years, and with no regrets whatsoever I look forward to continuing for as long as fate allows to enjoy the 'Quiz Night'.
