This door knocker was removed from my front door during renovations and is not now required as I have replaced with chrome fittings. It is made of brass and is heavy,it was painted white but I have stripped off the paint and cleaned it up a bit but it would benefit from good polish with brass cleaner to bring it up better particularly the strike plate which has some verdigris on it. It is in the style of Georgian scroll design knockers but is not an antique as it has more modern screws to the back of it but it certainly looks the part and will look lovely on a period or modern pvc front door. It measures 5.5 inches in length and the spacing between the screw holes for the knocker and strike plate is about 4.25.
