It is a high gloss, black (slimline) laptop. The keyboard is a delight to use with soft touch QWERTY keys, and very quiet , no clacking of the keys. It is five years old it looks and works just as well from the day I bought it. The reason I'm selling this Samsung Notebook is: I bought a white printer, unfortunately the colour of the Samsung Notebook did not match the colour scheme of my desktop accessories. Other wise I would not part with it. (I replaced it for OS Windows 10 - I find obtrusive) There are two USB Ports, CD Drive HDD, Wired Lan Port,and a Monitor Port, Multi-Card slot and a Security Lock Port. It has a standard battery, life of three to four hours depending on your settings, or you could use the power cable and AC adapter, ideal if the programmes you are running or a download takes a while, perhaps watching a movie or listening to music. It's frustrating when you are in the middle of preparing a thesis or printing letters only to have the battery run out of energy. You can watch,pause and record live TV. See slide shows of your photos. Connect remotely. Work on your pc using Remote Desktop Connection in Windows. It has an Elan touchpad, you could you a mouse. You can if preferred use the voice command prompt to dictate your emails - this option would prevent key loggers prying into your personal email content. It has Microsoft Word & Office pre-installed; I depended on these for letters, photos and/or albums, creating flyers, personal cards, business cards,headed writing paper. Windows Live Photo Gallery allowed me to create my own videos, which I found incredibly satisfying. Red eye reduction, remove blemishes and clean up photos that may need this. There is a camera to take images of yourself, friends and family. Skype enabled allowing live chat from anywhere in the world. It has a snipping tool which allows you to stay on the page you want to take an item from, e.g. - a photo, a news item, recipes anything you like without having to go to copy and paste in another window. You can make your own music CDs using Windows Media player and make home movies with media player or download your prefered app to replace Media Player. You can change the search engine, this notebook has BING and Windows Live Email pre-installed, you can change that too. Should you need to restore the notebook it is supplied with a Recovery Disc - or the F4 option will allow you to restore the system should you prefer. Samsung allows a complete Windows reinstallation and the repair of any damaged files to the original state when the notebook/laptop was new. ;
