The Welsh Drum Fair will be back in Merthyr this month bringing two full days of superb drumming sessions, performances and exhibitions to the iconic Redhouse – Old Town Hall.
The family-friendly Fair, newly launched in 2016, is held by the Merthyr Tydfil Leisure Trust managed venue in partnership with Cariad Custom Drums of Bridgend.
Thanks to extra demand this year, organisers have extended the one day event over the weekend of Saturday October 28th and Sunday October 29th and will welcome top drummers including Steve White.
Visitors can also look forward to a series of masterclasses, teaching sessions and sales stands from companies such as Ludwig, Pearl, Sakae, Ddrum, UFIP, Promark, Evans, Aquarian, Vic Firth, Code, British Drum Company and Dream alongside a special Sunday performance from The DB Big Band.
Leigh Smith of Cariad Custom Drums says the Drum Fair is already set to be bigger and better than the triumph of last year again and is advising drumming enthusiast to book masterclass tickets now to avoid disappointment.
“Merthyr proved to be a fantastic choice for the very first Welsh Drum Fair last year and we are delighted to be able to bring it back this year- bigger and even better.
“Tickets for masterclasses held by some of the top drummers in the UK and for the Big Band performance are on sale now and we are urging people to support what promises to be a great event.
“This is a day out for the whole family- so come down and get involved.”
The Welsh Drum Fair 2017 takes place at Redhouse, Merthyr Tydfil, on Saturday October 28th and Sunday October 29th, 10am-5pm.
Entrance to the building, exhibitions and stalls are free but seats for masterclasses must be booked prior to the event or on the day subject to availability.
Drummers who wish to sell merchandise on the day are asked to contact Paul Williams at Redhouse for pitch prices and an application form.
