I found this trunk in a market in need of some restoration and a lot of tlc.
I sanded it down extensively and gave it a coat of dark brown stain to bring it back to its original colour. I then gave it 2 coats of bees wax to protect it.
I also painted the inside a vintage willow colour to give it a fresh and cleaner look.
Fortunately the trunk retains all its original cast iron parts; hinges, handles, bottom corners and key plate.
I think that this trunk would be perfect as a coffee table or blanket box giving any room a touch of quirkiness and country decor.
