Gorgeous old original cabinet on legs for your sewing or knitting equipment. Such a fabulous find,You just dont see these much anymore these days.It is made of wood which has been cleaned then upcycled by being carefully handpainted with four generous coats of Farrow & Ball eggshell paint in Matchstick(a lovely beigey neutral) gently rubbed back to reveal some of its original then polished with antique wax on the unpainted wood parts. The interior is something else! fully lined inside with a glorious startling blue with a matching padded and buttoned pin cushion inside the lid. The front(which still has its dear little original knob) also drops down to reveal a little carved wooden tray at the base for crochet hooks,stitch rippers,thimbles etc with ingenious little cotton reel holders and pegs above to hang scissors and other bits and bobs.(any accessories shown are not included) The legs have that lovely 50's curve to them at the sides. This is a beautifully unique piece with just a little sign of wear to some of the edges in places as would be expected of something of this age but I personally think this only adds to its charm. It could also be used as a quirky and unusual bedside or end/lamp table in the living room with its added storage inside. It measures 12.5"(32 cms) deep x 17"(43cms) wide x 22.5"(57cms) high.
