Welcome to the sale of my beloved "Bertie bus" !
Bertie has been my pride and joy for the last 2 years. I have used him as an everyday car for the last year and took him around Europe last summer without any issues what so ever.
New parts: 22/04/2015: battery tray and sliding door runner area welded. 11/05/2015: rear brakes drums, rear brake shoes, brake shoe spring kit, wheel cylinders, handbrake cables, rear hub nuts and split pins, rear brakes back plates, rear brakes shoe mountings, front brake discs, front brake pads, front disc back plates, N/S/F brake calliper, front hub nuts, brake fluid, front anti roll bar D bushes, exhaust down pipe clamps, exhaust down pipe seal, cam belt, fan belt, engine oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, engine oil, rear coil springs and rear spring repair plates. 17/06/2015: 4 new VW T25 wheels and tyres. 19/06/2015: N/S upper wishbone bushes, N/S upper ball joint, clutch slave cylinder. 13/10/2015: 3 coolant hoses and clips, cylinder 4 injector fuel pipe. 08/03/2016: new water pump. The engine: Bertie has been fitted with a 1998 VW Passat 1.6TD engine (exactly the same as original T25 diesel engine just slightly more powerful). This was fitted by the previous owner as well as a new radiator. The engine runs like a dream and has done about 110,000 miles, however I have no proof of this. I have proof of MOT's and servicing for the last 4 years , with his next MOT due in late June (no advisories at last MOT). I have never had any problems with the engine and have cruised around Europe at 50mph for 6,000 miles without any issues. The slightly more powerful engine and new brakes mean that Bertie, unlike most T25's, stops and moves very well! The interior: When I first brought Bertie the interior was empty and all covered in blue mouldy carpet. Over the course of 3 months I stripped the inside out, fixed any interior rust and then created my own interior. There is a rock and roll bed, front and rear upper storage, lino flooring, mains plug point, gas alarm, New Sony stereo with aux cable, rear speakers, gas cooker, sink boll, and a small work surface/ storage unit. Please email me if you want a full inventory of the interior items. I also have a leisure battery but this is not fitted yet. Overall Bertie is a mechanically excellent example of a VW T25! He would happily take you around Europe again without any issues. The body work is in good condition, with a couple of little areas that need some rust repair but other than that all good. The interior is basic but functional. He is fairly priced and ready to go for the summer!;
