Hello,
I am keyboard trader and I do keyboard refurbishment whenever I buy & sell keyboards.
I can see there are many of keyboards that may require good treatment :) For better "feel", for better sale, or - finally - for better use.
Refurbishments included in price:
* keys cleaning (please note it's not 10 sec cloth wiping, but 2 hours job including keyboard disassembly, washing all keys separately as well as washing keypad),
* keypad/keys lubing - if required (Yamaha PSR models do require it, and Tyroses do not),
* pitch bender/modulation wheel lubing,
* keyboard rubber contacts and keypad contacts cleaning,
* casing cleaning (again, keyboard is completely disassembled, not only wiped for 10 seconds),
* speakers and grilles cleaning (including under-grilles area),
* firmware upgrade to newest revision.
Refurbishment takes 24 hours.
... and additional costs:
* keys replacing (if needed, for example - if they are broken, jagged) - for cost of keys , which usually is 7-10 pounds for each C-E-G-B, or D-F-A, or all blacks,
* keys repairing (if some of them don't play or are "sticky") - for cost of contacts, which usually is 10 pounds,
* speakers replacing (if needed = if burnt) - for costs of speakers,
* casing repair (holes, cracks) plus painting - additional 30 pounds per damage,
* upper casing lacquering - protects writing against wearing off - additional 30 pounds,
* buttons repair - from 25 pounds (depending on what broke).
Keys will not get damaged after washing, or lubing (you probably have heard about people who smear hands with some lubricants for better playing, and their keys or keyboard surface gets worn). My grease is keys-friendly and will not make them damaged.
I know many of users don't pay attention to firmware upgrades, but it is something that will improve functionality or stability (for example, old firmware revision for PSR-3000 will erase whole USB pendrive put into USB port... and did you think such upgrade would bring back its original functionality - in this case - proper reading of USB pendrive ?).
Summing up, if you want:
* restore original, crisp sound
* restore original "fell" of tapping keys,
* have a visual enjoyment,
* sell keyboard for more (or at all),
* repair it a bit to restore its condition
... contact me.
I do small repairs as well - like PCB repairs, elements replacing (not all) - like microswitches, buttons, LCD screen replacing and repairing when BLANK, casing replacing, speakers grille visual upgrade (sanding down, painting with any colour & lacquering), or casing lacquering (you probably know how quickly original paint gets worn).
I do small upgrades, too - for older keyboards with floppy disks - to replace it with USB floppy drive (for USB pendrives).
I DO FREE REPAIR ESTIMATION.
EXAMPLES
--------------
CASE 1: customer brought Yamaha DGX-500 keyboard with working one left speaker only. It was not speaker damage, so I've found damage, repaired it and both right speakers start to play. Repair time: about 4 hours & cost: 30 pounds.
CASE 2: customer brought Yamaha PSR-640 with strange sound behaviour after using Pitchbender and DSPs. Again, I've found damages, repaired them and all strange sound effects disappeared. Repair time: about 2 hours & cost: 30 pounds.
CASE 3: customer ordered me to come and pick up his PSR-3000 (usually it's around 20 pounds) which didn't start up: blank screen, no LEDs, no sound. I've located damage, repaired it and Yamaha turns on again. Repair time: about 4 hours & cost: 40 pounds.

I can deliver refurbished or repaired keyboard within a reasonable distance, but you need to bring it personally FIRST and pay in advance (I need materials, for example).
I was taking after Yamaha PSR & Tyros keyboards so far, but if you've got something else - please.
