The Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon is a popular and picturesque run - flatter and faster than London, Paris, Chicago and Berlin - taking participants past some of York's splendid historic sites and along scenic country lanes.
It's quickly established itself as one of the highlights of the on the county’s sporting calendar, with enthusiastic crowds, on-course entertainment, and friendly volunteers all key features of the event.
