Construction

Designed by David Thomas and built by Hummingbird yachts in 1980; she was superbly fitted out by her first owner and launched in 1982. Polished white

GRP hull with style stripes. Hull epoxied in 1997. White GRP coachroof with moulded GRP decks. Cast iron twin keels with stainless keel bolts.

Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder. Self draining cockpit with oiled teak grating. Varnished teak rubbing strakes and coachroof handrails. Mid-

ship cleats, self- draining anchor well. Extensive stowage in five cockpit lockers, two with varnished mahogany fronts.

Accommodation.

Tia has five berths in two cabins beautifully finished in varnished mahogany and teak. There is a double V berth forward with ample storage under,

aft to the spacious heads with new Jabsco toilet, hand basin and hanging lockers. The main cabin, with 6’1” headroom, has two single berths with a

hinged saloon table, Radio/CD, clock, barometer, tide clock and weather station. Aft is the Galley to port, with ample storage, two burner gas

cooker with oven and grill, sink with pressurised water (to galley & heads) from two 60 litre tanks (total 120 litres). Opposite is the Chart table

and Quarter berth. 12v & 240v power outlets and lighting. New curtains, carpets and upholstery throughout with most headlining renewed 2015.

Mechanical.

A new Vetus Status M3-10 20hp diesel engine was installed in 1997 and has been regularly serviced (last March 2015). Only 995 hours. It drives a

three bladed propeller providing a cruising speed of 5 knots with a range of approx 300 miles from the 100+ litre tank. Morse type engine controls,

two batteries (75AH & 110AH) charged by engine alternator or 240v shore power smart charger. New filters, impellor and flexible fuel hoses recently

fitted.

Rigging & Sails

Deck stepped masthead sloop rig. Kemp anodised mast & boom with all new standing rigging in 2015. Furlex genoa roller furling overhauled 2015.

Running rigging removed and checked 2014. Major running rigging led aft to two self-tailing winches. Twin Gibb sheet winches.
