I found these crates in a market in need of a lot of tlc and restoration.
Both crates' lids were broken but luckily I was able to save the parts where the printing was intact, which I used to make the front of the drawers and the remaining wood from the lid to use it as a shelf.
I repaired the crates and sanded them down to give them a good clean, being careful of not erasing the original printing.
I then gave them 2 coats of bees wax to protect them, while I painted the inside a vintage green to give it a fresher look.
Both crates have a lot of printing on the sides and on the top.
The crates are both from Argentina and Paraguay.
Both crates show lots of signs of wear and tear but I think this can be expected being so old.
I think they would both work very well as side/end tables or, if bought together, as bedside tables, giving the room a touch of quirkiness as well as handy storage.
