For sale here is a stylish handmade Cabinet which is ideal for use in the Bathroom or could be used in the Kitchen to accommodate all the coffee paraphernalia , spice jars etc. It could even be handy as a Bedroom item to tidy up perfumes ,cosmetics and so on. This cabinet is one of a small batch of 5 produced as a design project to incorporate some classic woodworking features and methods not seen in the usual mass produced items. The images hopefully highlight these some of which are: The exposed box or finger joints on the cabinet corners give that quality look. The shelves are not loose items but are housed and glued into the sides ,greatly increasing the rigidity of the piece , and have a decorative moulding routed into their front edge. A spindle moulder was used to produce the raised panels for the doors which again give the piece a classic look and magnetic catches hold them closed. A French curve was hand cut into the lower shelf sides and a mitred decorative moulding detail was applied to finish the bottom edge. The back is ply , and two webs in the top corners are pre-drilled to accept fitting screws. The plan for the other cabinets is to distress paint finish them , but the wood grain and figure of this one is so attractive it was decided to finish this one with finishing oil and two coats of Briwax which is as you see it. The Cabinet size is H 600mm W 600mm D 120 mm.
